Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect
- Account identifier — an anonymous identifier created when you first open the app. If you sign in with Apple, the identifier Apple provides and, if you choose to share it, your email address.
- Nationality — set automatically from your App Store account country (or your device region, or chosen by you if neither is known). It decides which flag is shown on your flags. Users who haven't signed in with Apple can change it.
- Visits — the coordinates of places where you plant flags, the time the photo was taken, the place name and any note you write.
Coordinates and capture times are read on your device from the location data of the photos you select (or the library you allow). Photo files are never sent to our servers. The link between your flags and your photos is also stored only on your device.
2. How we use it
- To show your map and your records (countries visited, number of places)
- To show, for each place, which nationalities have visited
3. What other people can see
- Your visits (exact coordinates, notes) are visible only to you.
- Only visits of users signed in with Apple are added to the public counts below. Flags planted while anonymous stay on your own map, and are added when you later sign in with Apple.
- Other users see, per area of about 150 m (about 40 km on the world map), only visitor counts by nationality and the average position of visitors, and only for areas with 3 or more visitors. Who visited is never shown.
- If you tap "Share my travels", anyone with the link can see the number of places per country. Coordinates and place names are not included.
4. Retention and deletion
You can delete your account at any time from My trips → Delete account in the app. Your visits, notes, share pages, profile, per-place visit markers (kept so each person is counted once per place) and sign-in information are deleted immediately, and Sign in with Apple is disconnected. Public visitor counts per place remain, as they are anonymous numbers. An anonymous account cannot be recovered after deleting the app; sign in with Apple to keep your records.
5. Service providers
- Google Firebase — sign-in and data storage (stored in Europe).
- Apple — Sign in with Apple.
- Your device's map and address services — coordinates are sent to find countries and place names.
- flagcdn.com — flag images. Only country codes are sent.
- Netlify — hosting for this website and share pages.
As with any internet connection, your device's IP address is received by these services when the app or website connects to them.
We do not sell or share personal information with third parties for any other purpose. We do not track you for advertising.
6. Affiliate links
The app may show affiliate links to travel products, and we may earn a commission on purchases made through them. Tapping a link opens the partner's website, where their privacy policy applies.
7. Your rights
You can view (My trips), correct (notes, nationality) and delete (delete flags, delete account) your data in the app at any time. For any other request to access, correct, delete or restrict processing, email us below. We process data to provide the app's features (performance of our agreement with you). If you live in the EU, you can lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
